Marketing Intern

The Marketing Intern position exists to support the Chief Executive Officer in advancing the organization’s mission through fundraising, development, marketing, communications, and event planning. All candidates must be committed to YWCA’s mission of eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting peace, justice, and dignity for all.

*This is an Intern position, unpaid*

Key Position Duties & Functions
o    Assist in fundraising activities, event planning, committee meetings, and community engagement
o    Record and collect in-kind gifts including center donations and auction items
o    Generate donor acknowledgement letters, receipts and update correspondence in donor software
o    Prepare, maintain, and update mailing lists for event invitations; sponsorships solicitations etc.
o    Assist with the design and distribution of annual report(s), direct mail pieces, event invitations, save the dates, and newsletters
o    Keep track of marketing collaterals such as logos, brochures, letterhead, digital content, and more
o    Assist in preparing press releases, mass communications and other content
o    Assist with ensuring organization is brand compliant and update marketing materials and collateral as needed including logos, brochures, letterhead, digital content etc.
o    Create content for and assist with the organization’s social media presence including acknowledging donors, sponsors, volunteers, and events
o    Assist with updating the organization’s website as needed
o    Monitor website analytics and message center
o    Additional administrative duties as assigned

Skills & Abilities
•    Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing 
•    Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
•    Should have basic knowledge in creating and disseminating email marketing communications
•    Proficiency in Adobe – PDF, Photoshop, and Canva is desired
•    Must have excellent attention to detail
•    Must be prompt; timely and responsive to needs of fast-paced organization
•    Must have excellent customer service skills including telephone and email etiquette
•    Must be able to handle confidential information discretely

Education
•    High School Diploma or higher degree required

Experience
•    Minimum up to 2 years related experience in marketing and event planning
