Judy-Ann Wellington was born on the beautiful island of Jamaica. She migrated to Queens, New York, in 1982. She completed her undergraduate at Helene Fuld College of Nursing in New York City. She is a Certified Family Nurse Practitioner, which she received from Chamberlain University in 2017. She completed her Doctoral degree with distinction in 2021. She has over 25 years of nursing experience with a background in emergency, telemetry, medical-surgical, home health, and geriatrics. She currently works in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at St. Mary's hospital. In 2018, Judy-Ann founded the nonprofit organization Black Nurse Practitioners of Palm Beach County, where she also serves as president. She felt the need to start this organization so the Nurse Practitioners and student Nurse Practitioners of color could have a place where support is readily available. Judy-Ann has won numerous awards and honors, including excellence in nursing leadership. She was recognized as one of south Florida's top black healthcare professionals for 2019. Judy-Ann was also nominated and selected by Legacy Magazine as one of South Florida’s "Most Influential and Prominent Black Women in Business and Industry" for 2020. Judy-Ann is also a certified mentor with the Healthy Mothers, Healthy Babies Coalition of Palm Beach County Teen Mom Mentoring Program. She also sits on the board of the Diabetes Coalition of Palm Beach County. Judy-Ann is an active member of the TLeroy Jefferson medical society, the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, and the Black Chamber of Commerce. One of Judy-Ann's reasons for becoming a Nurse Practitioner is to make a difference in serving the community by providing quality healthcare to a diverse population that leads to positive outcomes. Her goal and mission is to make a difference as she serves her community. She is well-known among her peers, friends, and family for her continued commitment to improving health. She decided to open an IV infusion health lounge (WellsCare Solutions) to “improve your quality of life.” She is also certified in medical weight loss. Her goal is not only to focus on weight loss but to teach strategies and interventions for staying healthy using a medically supervised plan which involves diet, exercise, and supplements. Her team strives to deliver the highest level of customer service by providing all clients with VIP treatment.
